Artwork Examples Gallery
Below, please find samples of my artwork, and of the kinds of work that I have available to commission. While I am happy to negotiate to produce other kinds of work for you, too, there are main types that I offer:
My artwork is produced entirely digitally: there is no physical copy, although you are more than welcome to print out the final piece yourself. All my drawing is done in FireAlpaca using a Wacom drawing tablet.
If you're interested in commissioning me, please contact me with what you're looking for, and we can discuss ideas!
Story Illustrations
Illustrations - or, potentially, concept art - based on scenes from your own story or project. You would give me the details of events, context, setting and characters; and based on those I would work up an illustration of the scene to your specifications. These can be one-off pictures, or I could illustrate your entire book or other story in this manner if you wanted!
Prices:
Start from a base of £60 (GBP) for a scene of 1 or 2 characters in focus, fully coloured and shaded and with a background of moderate detail; (e.g. "Doggo Friends", "Landon in the Rain", or "New Uniforms", above).
- Additional characters add £10 - £20 each depending on complexity: simpler / cartoonier / natural-ish animal characters £10 each; humans with fairly standard outfits around £15 each; characters with very complex outfits or designs (e.g. wearing detailed armour, robots) £20 each.
- Complex poses, e.g. battle scenes, or poses requiring the characters to be cast in trickier perspective, can add up to an extra £5 per character.
- Effects that interact with the characters, e.g. the magic powers that are cast in the "Kasey Vs. Shadow" example above, or the blue light falling upon the characters in "Assassin Attack", are an additional £5 - £10 depending on their intensity.
- Minimalist or no background, such as on "Puppies Grown Up" example, above, reduce the commission price by up to £10.
Character Reference Sheets
A full sheet of references for any of your characters: an ideal resource for keeping their appearances consistent, whether you're drawing them yourself, commissioning work from others, or sharing them with a team! Available for animal, human, or unnatural characters!
Prices:
Standard reference sheets include one large full-body drawing of the character; a colour key; a full-body turnaround showing them from front, back, and both sides; and three additional expressions. Price will vary depending on complexity of the character, but for the standard sheet (e.g. the puppy reference sheets in the example gallery above) starts from £60 (GBP) per sheet for an standard animal character / £70 per sheet for a humanoid character / £80 per sheet for a very complex character (e.g. a complicated robot, a human in highly detailed armour, an alien with a non-standard anatomy).
Additional features can include:
- labels on the main drawing to clarify their significant design details (no additional cost)
- extra expression studies after the basic three (extra £5 per face)
- smaller full-body depictions of them in additional outfits (extra £5 - £8 per outfit, depending on complexity)
- images of their significant accessories (extra £2 per accessory)
Pet Portraits
Animated-character styled portraits of your beloved canine and feline (or other animal) companions! All I need is a few clear photos of the pet in question, along with a brief description of personality and any specific details you'd like included in the picture, and I'll get right on it!
Prices:
Pretty much a flat rate at £25 GBP per pet for dogs, cats and other animals up to their size. Up to £10 more per pet for large animals such as horses.
Pet Portraits by default have a blank background; simple backgrounds are an option at an additional £5 per picture.
Character Portraits
Animated-style portraits of the fictional characters of your story or world. Clear reference images are a must, as well as a description of the emotions you would like displayed. Portraits can either be for a single character or 'family groups' of up to five or so characters, and are drawn as though within a oval-shaped frame. Portraits by default have simple backgrounds, usually just a blend of colours, but can be made more specific on request.
Prices:
Portraits start at £30 (GBP) for a single character, humanoid or animal, on a minimal background, additional characters an additional £10 each. Very complex or highly detailed character designs can add up to £10 more each.
