Terms of commissioning me:
  • Please browse my gallery a little first, to see if my style suits what you want! I don't want to waste your time if the way I draw simply isn't suited to your idea.

  • Please do NOT make requests that include canon fandom characters. Requests that include fandom-based original characters (OCs) of your own design are fine, as long as I am comfortable with the fandom: you're welcome to ask!

  • Similarly; if you want your piece to include someone else's character(s) as well as your own, you must please provide me with evidence that you have their owner's permission.

  • Please provide suitable references for all the characters you want me to draw! Likewise, if you want me to improvise a character design based on your description only, please be clear on that fact - it will increase the price because the design work will take extra time.

  • I will not copy an existing picture into my own style. I am happy to reference existing pictures, but will still apply my own approach to the composition to make it something unique.

  • At present I am NOT willing to make drawings of REAL PEOPLE, for my own comfort. From real life, I will only accept requests for drawing animals; otherwise, I intend to stick entirely to drawing fictional characters.

  • I reserve the right to turn down a commission if I'm not comfortable with the request. Any decision I make as such will be final; please respect it... though if you adhere to the Request Content guidelines below, we should be fine.

  • Likewise, I will be honest and up-front with you if I don't feel like I can satisfactorily draw what you are asking of me.

Regarding request content:

  • Nothing that would be rated higher than PG-13; for my own comfort, I'm not willing to draw anything of a sexual nature, nor anything explicitly fetish-related, or that includes excessive gore or profanity.

  • I refuse to draw anything that is knowingly discriminatory or hateful towards any real person or group of people.

  • As a Christian, I refuse to draw anything that makes fun of what I believe in.

Other notes;

  • I will NEVER use generative AI in the process of creating your artwork; everything you see is the direct result of human creativity and has no input from artificial intelligence.

  • By default I work on a canvas of around 1920px x 1080px, then shrink the finished piece to around 70% of that size for upload as a .PNG file; please let me know ahead of time if you require a different size or format.

  • As all work is digital, there will be no physical copy of the piece to send you; however, you are most welcome to have the finished work printed out yourself if you wish to do so.

  • I'm happy to let you see work in progress (WIP) views of your commission as it progresses, to make sure that you'll be satisfied with the end result. Typically, I will just send you two WIPs - first when the very rough sketch is done but before main drawing work begins, to confirm that you like the layout; second after the clean linework is drawn but before colouring, when I can still easily change anything that you think doesn't look quite right - before the final picture, but just ask me if you want to see them more frequently. Likewise, if you're not happy with the WIP, please let me know promptly what I need to change, and I'll do my best to remedy it.

  • During the process of undertaking the commission, please try and respond to me promptly when I contact you about details, so that I can keep the work progressing and get you the end result as quickly as possible.

  • I may be a little slow working on these due to other demands on my time, but when we agree on the commission I will try and give you an estimate of how long it will take, and will prioritise working on commissions above my own personal projects.

  • Once the commission is done and you're happy with the result, I will contact you with the full-sized version as well as the finalised smaller version. In addition, I reserve the right to upload the finished piece to my DeviantArt gallery (deviantart.com/rainstormcheetah) unless you specifically ask me not to.

  • You are free to use the finished piece however you would like, with a couple of stipulations:

    • That you do NOT resell, or otherwise make money off, the artwork without first obtaining my permission.

    • That you do NOT feed the artwork to a generative AI, for training purposes or otherwise.

    • That you credit me as the artist whenever you use it; and likewise that you don't remove my logo watermark from the image.

Regarding payment;

  • Please discuss with me what you want first, as most base prices are subject to fluctuate depending on complexity of the request. Most causes of price variance are addressed on the respective site sections, allowing you to approximate the cost up-front should you prefer to; but still, please do not send any money until we have agreed on all details.

  • Discussing a commission with me DOES NOT put you under any obligation to buy until all details and pricing has been finally agreed upon. Once we reach that point, I will send you a message with the final agreed details, price and my PayPal link - but you are free to back out at any time before that, for any reason, and I will not hold it against you.

  • Similarly, if you stop communicating with me in the middle of such a discussion, I will contact you once after a week has passed since I last heard from you. If I still receive no reply, I will assume you have lost interest and will no longer pursue the subject.

  • I will not take requests for free at this time.

  • I will only accept payment by PayPal transaction.

  • I will ask for half of the agreed payment up front, with the remainder due upon completion of the artwork.

  • If I am unable to complete your commission for any reason, I will refund your initial payment.

  • If you are not happy with the finished result, please let me know what about it you feel needs to be changed, and I will work with you to improve it as best I can. Such post-completion revisions will incur a little extra cost for the time taken, unless the error that needs fixing was indisputably my own fault.

Thank-you for reading my terms; and, if you agree to them, I look forward to working on a commission for you!
